The Mexican national team is preparing to face a new World Cup this November. However, tensions and controversies are not giving any respite to coach Gerardo Martino, who has even considered resigning on more than one occasion, according to TUDN. Now, a former Mexican soccer legend is stepping forward as a possible replacement.
Hugo Sanchez, now a commentator for ESPN, spoke on the program Futbol Picante that he would be willing to take on the role of coach of the Mexican team if Martino backs out. The one-time Real Madrid striker sees himself as a qualified person to take on the challenge.
