After the elimination of PSG from Champions League thanks to a Real Madrid comeback orchestrated by Karim Benzema, tension has started to build in Parc des Princes, as PSG followers have pointed both Neymar and Lionel Messi as the protagonist of their failure.
Marcelo Flores might have his first call for an official match with Mexico National Team
IT’s true that since Messi arrived this season to Ligue 1, he hasn’t played anywhere near to what he was used to when he was wearing FC Barcelona colors, as he has missed several games and hasn’t marked a difference when he’s on the pitch, including the penalty kick that he failed in the first leg of the round of 16 against Los Merengues.
And the narrative with Neymar doesn’t change that much, as he has played just half of the games this season in France’s top flight, scoring just five goals in 14 games, numbers that don’t reflect the $40 million per season he earns.
PSG followers are tired of Neymar’s weak performances and have started chanting against his presence in Paris. That has made Neymar take the decision of leaving Ligue 1 at the end of the season, something that PSG won’t try to avoid, as they know that lately he’s been a liability.
According to reports of the Italian newspaper Il Mattino, in 2019 PSG was close to signing Mexico international Hirving “Chucky” Lozano, when Genaro Gattuso arrived in Napoli to replace Carlo Ancelotti, given that he wasn't keen on having the Mexican player on his squad.
Back then, negotiations didn’t transcend, and Lozano stayed in Napoli, where he’s become a regular in the starting XI of Luciano Spalletti, and has regained his shape, something that has gathered interest from PSG once again and could pursue his addition over the summer.
According to reports, PSG is not the only interested team in acquiring “Chucky” Lozano for the 2022-23 season, as both Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona have been linked to him in recent days, which is why they will have to offer at least $45 million to acquire the Mexican winger.
Hirving Lozano arrived in Napoli for the 2019-20 season after two years playing for Eredivisie side PSV. So far, he’s played a total of 107 games for the Azzurri, where he’s been able to score 25 times and assist on 10 occasions.
