Mexico National Team will start their preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night, when they face Nigeria in AT&T Stadium on the first of three friendly games that they will play in the upcoming week.
Gerardo Martino is considering having Marcelo Flores in the final roster of Mexico National Team
The Mexican team will have two more games in June, part of the CONCACAF Nations League, to define most of the players that will be part of the roster that Gerardo “Tata” Martino calls up to Qatar 2022, as well as solve the problems showed in the past year.
But even if Martino hasn’t defined the players that will be on the final roster, the Mexican national team already has one confirmed player, as no matter what happens in the upcoming months, he’ll be on the pitch against Poland on November 20 for El Tri’s debut in Qatar.
One of the things that Martino has been criticized the most during the CONCACAF Qualifiers, was the fact that he didn’t build a competitive roster. Instead, he was comfortable calling up the same players time after time, especially Guillermo Ochoa.
Ochoa, who has been the starting goalkeeper for El Tri since 2014, has already guaranteed his third straight World Cup in El Tri’s goal, although this time the reasons are not because of his level on the pitch but because he’s an investor of Kavak, one of the main sponsors of the Aztec squad.
Gerardo Martino already took a decision about calling up Alan Mozo now that he arrived at Chivas
