Héctor Herrera is getting closer to the end of his career, as the 31-year-old is not considered as an essential piece for Diego “Cholo” Simeone’s squad and could be leaving Atlético Madrid soon in hopes of getting more playing time to be in optimal condition for 2022 FIFA World Cup to be played in Qatar.

He might be living his last World Cup this year, and although he’s one of Tata Martino’s favorites, his current performances have him far away from what Mexico National Team needs. His place with El Tri is safe with the Argentinean coach, but he’s closing the door for a young player that could be better for Mexico.
Alan Eduardo Torres has been a regular for Chivas squad, as he played 15 games last season and he just scored his first professional goal in Liga MX yesterday, letting Gerardo Martino know he’s ready to be called to Mexico’s senior team.

Alan Eduardo Torres has played a total of 44 games for El Rebaño Sagrado after his debut with Chivas senior squad on 2019. So far he’s assisted two times and he managed to score his first goal against Mazatlán, after he shoot a lob over Vikonis head that fell right under the crossboard.
