Marcelo Flores keeps showing why he’s considered to be one of the best players of the future, as the 18-year-old offensive midfielder has become a regular in Arsenal’s U-23 squad since his debut a couple months ago, as he’s involved in the score one way or the other.
Santiago Muñoz is finally showing why he’s the striker Mexico National Team needs
If he doesn’t score then he assists, but Marcelo Flores has proved why he’s just one step away from debuting with one of the biggest teams in Premier League, as he has been called several times by Mikel Arteta to train with the senior squad.
But while that happens, Flores keeps preparing himself and raising the hand to be part of Mexico National Team. This time, by scoring Arsenal U-23’s only goal in the 4-1 defeat against Liverpool. The score was still 2-0 when Marcelo found the net to give the Gunners some hope to tie the game.
Flores received the ball in the penalty box, and as if he had tattooed the goal on the back of his mind, without looking to the goalkeeper, he shoot the ball to the furthest post, chipping Liverpool’s goalie, who only managed to watch how the ball crossed the goal line to put Arsenal on the scoreboard.

Martino knows of the capabilities that Flores has, although he prefers to call older players to decisive games, like the past FIFA match window, given that they have more experience and won’t lose their heads as easily as the youngster would.
But if Martino wants El Tri to compete with the new generations of USMNT and Canada MNT, who are fast and sharp, he will have to start considering calling different players, like Marcelo Flores, Santiago Muñoz or Luca Martínez Dupuy, to give El Tri the chance of exploring different facets and schemes.
