Mexico National Team keeps disappointing with their performances on the World Cup Qualifiers match window, as they barely managed to get a 2-1 victory over Jamaica and now, they tied in a scoreless game against Costa Rica, which endangers their participation in Qatar.
Gerardo Martino finally spoke about his future with El Tri
Gerardo “Tata” Martino is not the only to blame for their disheartening exhibitions, but he’s the most responsible as he keeps calling the same players repeatedly, even though it’s been clear for a while they don’t have the level needed to be part of El Tri.
The game against Panama might be his last match as El Tri coach, as FMF is already looking for his replacement. Jaime Lozano is one of the names that has been coming up recently, as he knows how El Tri works and would give young players the chance they need in the senior squad, something Martino hasn’t done.
Lozano was coach of the U-20 squad until August last year, which means he knows that young players will work better than current players that don’t give anything to El Tri, like Marcelo Flores instead of Rogelio Funes Mori, or Carlos Acevedo instead of Guillermo Ochoa.
FMF has taken a decision, will Martino continue as El Tri coach?
