Although Hugo Sánchez has received backlash on recent days after saying that he would have won the World cup if he had played for another country rather than Mexico, he took time to analyze the 2-1 victory of Mexico National Team against Jamaica.
If Ronaldinho did it, then why Hugo Sánchez don’t? He’s preparing his own movie
After Carlos Hermosillo claimed that he lost respect for Hugo Sánchez, who always talked more instead of being a leader for El Tri, Hugol explained that he believes Mexico National Team currently doesn’t have transcendence, neither individually nor as a team.
He surprised by not criticizing Gerardo Martino, but instead focusing on the players, who don’t play on a level that matches responsibility of wearing El Tri colors, as they feel comfortable knowing that they’ll be part of Mexico National Team calls even if they don’t perform well, something that happens with Guillermo Ochoa, who has been the starter goalkeeper since the 2010 World Cup.
Other reason that Hugo Sánchez thinks El Tri underperforms when playing against CONCACAF teams is because it’s a more physical soccer, something that the Mexican player is not used to either in Liga MX, MLS or Europe, which is why sometimes it seems as if they were scared while playing.
