Gerardo Martino refuses to call Marcelo Flores, but FC Barcelona surprises the youngster with big news

Mexico National Team have had a recent debacle as results are just not arriving in the way they would’ve expected. After losing 3 games on a row against USMNT, and now on the brink of elimination of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, it’s clear Gerardo Martino needs to shake things up in order to ear a victory against Panama on Wednesday.

If this coach arrives in El Tri, he knows Marcelo Flores will be part of his squad

But something as surprising as the performance of El Tri in the 0-0 draw against Costa Rica in Estadio Azteca, is Martino’s whim of calling Rogelio Funes Mori time after time, even though everyone has realized that El Tri doesn’t work when he’s on the field and that there’s better options out there, like Marcelo Flores.

Marcelo Flores will have a great opportunity of joining Arsenal’s senior team now that the Gunners have send Pierre Emerick Aubameyang on a loan to FC Barcelona and given that they play the same position and that the transfer window already closed, Mikel Arteta will give him the chance to prove himself in Premier League.

Why does Martino decided to not call Flores?

Martino has made clear that he will keep calling Funes Mori instead of giving Marcelo Flores a chance, as he believes the Arsenal U-23 player doesn’t have the experience needed to be part of Mexico National Team, although he’s one step away from debuting, at 18 years old, in one of the most important leagues in Europe.
