The president of the Mexican Soccer Federation, Yon de Luisa, avoided "guaranteeing" the continuity of Gerardo Tata Martino, because "in life, there are no guarantees", although he acknowledged that the confidence in the Argentinean coach remains, prior to the matches against Jamaica, Costa Rica, and Panama.

"In life, there are no guarantees, you have to go out, work, earn the job and the result. I am confident in Tata's work, I am convinced, so we will continue to support him," commented Yon de Luisa, president of the Mexican Soccer Federation, at the presentation of Draftea as a sponsor of the Mexican national team.

After defeats against the U.S. and Canada, Tata has been criticized

Gerardo Tata Martino's job has been called under question after Mexico lost the CONCACAF leadership and is now close to the playoff zone. The Mexican Soccer Federation expects to obtain at least seven out of nine possible points during February's FIFA date.

"As for asking, let's remember that asking does not diminish, I would love three wins, but the reality is that on FIFA dates, with a triple window, we got seven points, if we can get seven or more we would be happy and well on track, we have six games left, four at home, two against direct rivals and at home we have that advantage. I have no doubt that we will qualify", added Yon de Luisa.

Minimum 7 points on this FIFA date

Next Thursday, Mexico visits Jamaica which has managed to draw against Canada and the United States at home and hosts Costa Rica and Panama at the Azteca, with two thousand people in the stands and the Panama team fighting to push the Tricolor down to the playoff zone.

"This is soccer and some games are better than others, in that sense, we are looking to do what we know how to do, convinced of our players, coaching staff, and sporting management, I have no doubt that things will continue to go well. There is little margin for error because every FIFA date is a micro world cup that is played for everything".
