Even Yon de Luisa, FMF chairman, said that Martino doesn´t have guaranteed his place with El Tri. And it seems that this news reached Carlos Vela, who after hearing it, is willing to play again with Mexico National Team if Martino leaves.
Reports suggest that Miguel Herrera will be his replacement if El Tri doesn’t manage to win at least two of the three games and tie the other, and that Herrera already talked to the Federation to let them know Carlos Vela is a priority for him.

Does “Tata” Martino have a plan if he gets fired from El Tri?
Although Carlos Vela hasn’t played a single game wearing Mexico colors since the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he knows Herrera trusts him, as he did when “El Piojo” was El Tri coach in 2014, although Vela couldn’t be part of his squad. So far, Vela has played on 72 games for Mexico National Team, scoring 19 goals.
