Ajax thrash Twente 5-0; Edson Álvarez heads the midfield

Ajax showed no mercy against Twente, thrashed 5-0, and continues to consolidate its position at the top of the Eredivisie; this Sunday, the Mexican Edson Álvarez's team was far superior at the Johan Cruijff Arena.

The Mexican player was a starter and came on as a substitute at the 65th minute when the coach brought on Perr Schuurs, who replaced him on the field when the match was already 5-0 up.

In the Cup clash, Brazilian Antony Dos Santos scored twice, at 17' and 61'; Sebastien Haller also scored twice, at 30' and 46'; Dusan Tadic got on the scoreboard in the 51st minute.

The former America player is still unbeaten against Vitesse as a rival and the last time he had played against them ended with a goal by the same score for Ajax, although that time it was an Eredivisie clash and the Mexican scored on that occasion.

Thus, Ajax has now won nine matches in a row between the Dutch Cup and the Eredivisie.
