Who is Víctor Guzmán?

Víctor Guzmán Guzmán is a Mexican soccer player, who plays as a midfielder for Club de Fútbol Pachuca of Liga MX, and at the age of 27, he is breaking with this team.

The player, born in Guadalajara, Jalisco on February 3, 1995, is known for 2 things: for his nickname Pocho Guzman, and for providing the Tuzos with a very dynamic ball movement.

Guzmán began his soccer career at the age of 14, when in 2009 he entered the Chivas academy, where Jose Luis Real saw him, and also realized his potential.

As a result, the midfielder was promoted to the U-15, U-17, and U-20 teams, but without making his debut with the first team, but he caught the attention of someone who would change his life: the Uruguayan coach Diego Alonso, who brought him to Pachuca on loan, without an option to buy.

In January 2020, the player had been bought back by Chivas, however, the club reversed the purchase after he tested positive for doping.

Guzmán was suspended by the Mexican Soccer Federation, but a B test was performed, as he said he was innocent, however, this was not enough and he spent months away from the fields.

Guzmán would not return to play until August 2020, and he did so with Pachuca, the club he currently plays for.

Guzman was called to play with the U-20 and U-23 national teams, and later he would fulfill the dream of many Mexican players, which is to make his debut with the senior national team.
