Last year, Atlas managed to break its curse of more than 70 years without a title, which made everyone start to ask, who is Julio Furch, the lethal striker who has become a Zorros' historic player?
And the fact is that the feat achieved by him and his teammates in the Apertura 2021 was historic, so it is worthwhile to review the trajectory of this authentic crack.
Julio César Furch is an Argentine soccer player who plays as a striker for Atlas of Liga MX, and as mentioned, he helped break the Guadalajara club's title drought.
Since his arrival to the Zorros in the 2020-2021 season, he became an indispensable player for the squad, and in his first tournament with Atlas, he scored 2 goals, a figure that would grow over time.
Julio Furch was born in Winifreda, La Pampa, Argentina, on July 29, 1989, and started his career in soccer at the age of 10 years old in Club Social y Deportivo Winifreda.
Later, he would move to Club Deportivo Mac Allister in the city of Santa Rosa.
Due to his talent, coach Daniel Florit invited him to try out for Olimpo, a club for which he made his debut on May 8, 2010.
Although his team lost to Club Sportivo Independiente Rivadavia in the penultimate date of the Primera B Nacional 2009-10 Championship.
In August of that year he would make his debut in the First Division of Argentina after his club managed to win the Second Division, with which the club was promoted.
And due to his skills, he would first go to San Lorenzo de Almagro and from there, he would go to Arsenal Fútbol Club de Sarandí.
After his time at Arsenal, a club where he scored 1 goal against Clube Atlético Mineiro in the Copa Libertadores, and after winning the 2012-13 Argentine Cup championship by defeating his former team, San Lorenzo, in the final, the striker looked for new airs.
And so, on August 9, 2014, he arrived at Club Atlético Belgrano as a reinforcement to face the Torneo Inicial, in which he would score 8 goals in 18 matches, becoming the team's top scorer.
Looking for new challenges for his career, the player would arrive in Mexico in December 2014 to play with the Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz, a club in which throughout 80 games, he would score 33 goals, making a name for himself in Mexico.
In 2017 he would arrive at Santos Laguna, to play 163 matches in which he would score 69 goals, and later, he would arrive at his current team, Atlas, where he would become a legendary player by scoring 11 goals in 31 matches and being a factor in winning the Apertura 2021 title.
