Henry Martín has proven to be an unsuccessful striker with Club América and Mexico National Team in recent years, as he can’t seem to close the plays and doesn’t know how to coordinate with the wingers, he’s become a liability more than an asset.

But even after last night’s game, where he didn’t seem to be in sync with his teammates, Santiago Solari keeps trusting him, although he hasn’t been able to score in the two games Solari has started him. Even in Apertura 2021, where he played on 12 games, he only scored 2 goals, a sign that he’s not a reliable forward.
That’s why Club América hasn’t stop looking for a forward that could compete for the starting role with Henry Martín -even if Solari trusts him-, and now have set their eyes in Rogelio Funes Mori, who is having a rough time in Monterrey and would consider leaving Rayados.

Funes Mori has become Rayados historical top scorer and one of their most distinguishable players, something that Club América lacks. Since joining Monterrey in 2015 for $4 million, Funes Mori has increased his value to $7.4 million, price that Las Águilas would have to pay if they were to acquire him.
