After sacking Santiago Solari from Club América given the poor results he had with Las Águilas in the 8 rounds of Clausura 2022 he was on their dugout, the Azulcremas haven’t announced who is going to be their new coach.

If Daniel Brailovsky arrives in Club América, these four players will leave

For now, they named Fernando “Tano” Ortíz their interim coach, and he’s been in charge of the first team for the past couple of games, since he was coaching the U-20 squad, but given that he arrived in January in El Nido, he hasn’t found a way to make thing work.

Rumors suggest that Las Águilas were expecting to end Clausura 2022 with “Tano” Ortíz and then hire Nicolás Larcamón, who is having one of the best seasons of Club Puebla in over 30 years but given the lack of improvement showed in the past two games, they will have to look for a new coach earlier than expected.

That’s why according to TV Azteca, Club América is in conversations with Ricardo La Volpe to take over the team, as he knows the way Las Águilas works and would give them the chance of leaving the bottom of the table while opening doors for young players.

What is La Volpe asking to arrive in Club América?

La Volpe is aware of the situation in which Las Águilas currently are, and he’s willing to arrive in Club América for an economic deal, as he knows there’s little to do for the current season, although he’d be able to lay the groundwork for the next season.

His goal will be to have a contract until the end of the year, where he can help Club América to leave the bottom of the table and have a solid project that will be attractive not only for the followers but also for the players that could potentially acquire, as well as the coach that arrives after him.

Baños is pushing for his arrival

Although he still isn’t part of Club América, Daniel “Ruso” Brailovksy is soon to join Las Águilas either as a replacement for Santiago Baños, or on a new position that will be over Santiago Baños and that will take care of all the sporting decisions, but the arrival of La Volpe could stop his return to América.

According to the same Brailovsky, during an interview he confessed that he doesn’t have a good relationship with La Volpe, and that doesn’t seem to be going to change soon. That’s why Santiago Baños wants to have him on the bench, as his presence will secure his stay in América, given that Brailovsky would decline to return to the Azulcrema structure.
