Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti can boast about many things, but as of last night he has one more to brag about: with his victory last night, the coach reached 500 wins in Liga MX 2022.
The record comes at a good time as "El Tuca" is starting this new cycle with his team, Bravos de Juárez after he left Tigres UANL in June 2021 on not very good terms.
The record also serves as a motivator for his team, which finished 13th in the overall standings last season.
As soon as the final whistle blew, Bravos de Juárez posted congratulations on Ferretti's achievement on their social networks.
The congratulations read: "Congratulations Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti on your 500 victories in Mexican soccer! How proud you are to be from Bravos!".
Ferretti's celebration was twofold because, in addition to winning, his team did it with a resounding 2-1 score, demonstrating that in this tournament they are going all out to win the title.
Diego Rolán, the Bravos de Juárez star who returned to play in Mexico after a bad experience with Deportivo La Coruña, was also on the field.
The Rolán-Ferretti duo is shaping up to be one of the tournament's top scorers. And expectations are very high, but it is enough to remember the good eye that "Tuca" has for foreigners who come to play in Liga MX 2022.
Last night's achievement by "Tuca" Ferretti makes it necessary to remember the other coaches considered the most winningest in the history of Liga MX 2022.
Ricardo Ferretti, for example, has coached more than 1,402 games, with a total of 500 victories, a record that was set last night.
In second place is Don Ignacio "Nacho" Trelles, with 463 victories in the maximum circuit of Mexican soccer. In third place is Manuel Lapuente with 260 victories in the First Division.
In fourth place is a coach who is not so veteran and who could set a new record if he continues his winning ways. This is Miguel Herrera, the current Tigres coach, who has accumulated 329 victories.
He is followed in fifth place by Víctor Manuel Vucetich with a total of 378 matches won.
It is enough to remember that Ricardo Ferretti is a coach who is not afraid to speak his mind and that he does so at any time, whether in his teams' training sessions or at press conferences.
The Brazilian coach could not be present at his team's victory and had to watch it from the stands due to a suspension he has been facing since last season.
His punishment was a three-match suspension for making misogynistic and homophobic comments at a press conference after the end of the match against Tigres.
The Disciplinary Commission of the Mexican Soccer Federation (FMF) also imposed an economic sanction against the technical director.
Both the economic sanction and the suspension must be served in the next few matches, for having violated the provisions of Article 1 of Appendix III "Racism and Discrimination" of the FMF Sanction Regulations, in force for the 2021-2022 Season, and Article 6 of the Code of Ethics.
About this, he said that he is a person with old habits and acknowledged that he made a mistake with his actions.
Immediately after learning of his punishment, the 67-year-old coach offered a public apology.
