When Uriel Antuna was playing for Chivas, he was involved in a lot of scandals and was usually referred to as an undisciplined player rather than talking about his skills with the ball and talent in the pitch, which led to his departure to Cruz Azul for the beginning of Clausura 2022.

But since arriving in Cruz Azul, Antuna changed the narrative surrounding him, not only because in three games he already has one goal and one assistance, but because he seems like a different player, one that is focused on his professional career instead of being involved in scandals.
When he first arrived in Cruz Azul, both management and Juan Reynoso talked to him and set the expectations they had both from his performances and his personal life, something that Antuna has taken seriously, maybe to become an attractive asset for a European club.

Although Antuna started his career in Santos Laguna Academy, he never debuted with the senior tam, as he was acquired by Manchester City in 2017, where he joined the U-23. He was sent on a loan to FC Groningen and LA Galaxy before Chivas acquired him for $11.2 million. Cruz Azul acquired him on a trade for Roberto Alvarado, but his current market value is set at $5.1 million.
