José Juan Macías returned to Chivas after an unfruitful stint in La Liga with Getafe FC, where he played less than 300 minutes over 22 games that he was part of the Azulones before they decided to rescind his contract, even if his loan still had six more months.

Chivas news:

Chivas won’t renew Alexis Vega but they already found his replacement

He knows that this year more than any other, having a good streak and being in the best shape he can is essential if he wants to be considered to be part of the final roster of Mexico National Team that Gerardo “Tata” Martino will take to Qatar 2022.

That’s why he decided to join Chivas once again, as he also had the chance of playing for a few MLS teams, but he knew he was in debt with El Rebaño and their followers, which is why in the end he decided to return to the team that gave him the chance of debuting.

So far, Macías has played in four games, although he has started in just one, on last week’s match against Toluca, where he also scored the only goal of the match, which also broke a 1-year drought without scoring.

Will he stay in Chivas?

Macías has claimed that his goal is to return to Europe, but in order to do that, he has to earn the trust of Marcelo Michel Leaño and Chivas followers first, given that the confidence he can gather will also help him return to his best form.

So far, it seems that he already earned the trust of Michel Leaño, as he will be part of the starting XI of the Clásico Nacional, and although he claims he’s focused in helping Chivas and that he returned to pay the debt he had with the club, he was also moved by the economic advantages that El Rebaño gave him.

How much does he earn in Chivas?

According to reports, the salary he agreed to receive was around $1 million, which was a big influence for his arrival in Chivas once again, as Clausura 2022 became his third stint with El Rebaño Sagrado, after he first left to Club León and then to Getafe.

The offer that Chivas made him is higher than what he was earning in Spain and the salary he had before leaving El Rebaño, which made the decision of returning to Liga MX easier for the 21-year-old striker who is trying to regain regularity.
