it seems like the only thing that Chivas needed to get back on track was to part ways with Marcelo Michel Leaño, as in three games they’ve tied the same number of victories that Michel Leaño had in Clausura 2022.

The striker that Ricardo Cadena wants in Chivas for next season

Thanks to the nine points obtained against Cruz Azul, Xolos de Tijuana, and Pumas, El Rebaño Sagrado currently is standing seven, with 23 points, tied with CF Monterrey, Club Necaxa and Atlético San Luis, and just one point behind Club América and Cruz Azul.

They have ensured their participation in Repechaje, although they still need to win against Club Necaxa in the last game of the regular season if they want to have the home advantage, something that is fundamental in Repechaje given that it’s just one game of direct elimination.

Ricardo Cadena has been the responsible of the change that Chivas has showed in the closing of Clausura 2022, which has placed him in the conversation to become the next Chivas coach, something that seems probable given that the players are backing him up on the pitch.

How much will he earn?

Before assuming the role of interim coach in Chivas after the departure of Marcelo Michel Leaño, Ricardo Cadena was coaching CD Tapatío, Chivas’s reserves team that plays in Liga de Expansión, Mexico’s second flight.

Cadena knows well the sporting structure of El Rebaño Sagrado, as he’s coached the academy teams for a while, but since assuming the job with the first team, his salary hasn’t changed, as according to reports from W Radio Deportes, he keeps earning $400,000 per season.

If Cadena remains in El Rebaño for Apertura 2022, something that he’ll manage to do if Chivas make it to the quarterfinals, he’ll keep earning the same salary as neither him nor Amaury Vergara don’t intend to restructure his contract.

How much did Michel Leaño earn?

The former Chivas coach, who assumed the role after sacking Victor Manuel Vucetich in Apertura 2021, was earning $1 million per season, a high salary for a coach that was just starting his career in Mexico’s first division.
