Club América couldn’t keep waiting for the results to arrive with Santiago Solari and decided to part ways with the former Real Madrid coach after the 1-1 draw against Club Querétaro on Tuesday night, who left Las Águilas after 14 months.

Santiago Solari’s replacement in Club América could arrive from Argentina

On the press conference after the game, Solari said that he had no longer a voice over the matter and the decision of his continuity was in the hands of the ownership. And on Wednesday morning, they decided that his stint with Las Águilas had come to an end.

Club América still have a chance of leaving the bottom of the table, as they haven’t lost their last two games and starting a good streak could help easily make them climb positions, a thing that usually happens in Liga MX on the second part of the season.

But for that to happen, Las Águilas need a coach that understands Mexican soccer, has a strong personality and is willing to take over a project that seems to be adrift. And for Emilio Azcárraga, that coach seems to be Robert Dante Sibloldi.

Is Robert Dante Siboldi willing to arrive in Club América?

Before Las Águilas hired Santiago Solari for Clausura 2021, Robert Dante Siboldi was close to becoming América’s coach, although he didn’t want Santiago Baños to build him a coaching staff, which is why he decided to step down from the negotiations.

The Uruguayan coach is willing to become the next Azulcrema coach, but he’s asking for two things to sign with Las Águilas. The first one will be exactly that, to have freedom of building his own coaching staff, without Baños having the last word on it.

The second condition that Siboldi has is that they don’t impose players on his roster, something that happened when he was coaching Cruz Azul and build tension between him and La Máquina, which ended up with his departure.

How much will Siboldi ask to arrive in Las Águilas?

According to reports, the Uruguayan had a salary of $1.7 million per year when he was coaching Cruz Azul, a figure that’s below the $2 million per season that Solari was earning, which is why Club América could afford hiring Siboldi as their new coach.
