The numbers don't lie and disaster for the Rojiblancos could be near in this afternoon's Liguilla duel.

After the defeat that the Rebaño Sagrado suffered in the first leg at home at the Akron Stadium, the team will have to look for an epic comeback in the match to dream of reaching the semifinals.

However, not only are they going up against an unfavorable scoreline, as the score ended 2-1 in favor of the Zorros, but Ricardo Cadena's squad will be facing history.

The feat would come in the Chivas vs Atlas match at the Jalisco Stadium and the numbers don´t lie

To the good fortune of the Rojiblanco fans, the best thing that could have happened to the Rebaño Sagrado has already happened, as they have a negative record in the last five league games in which they were unable to win the first leg of the quarterfinals.

That is to say, reviewing the historical data of the Rebaño Sagrado, this team has failed in recent years when trying to have a comeback game, when they ended up losing the first leg.

But this figure is reversed when they have come up against Atlas in the Quarterfinals because they have been the only team with which the Rebaño Sagrado has been able to make a comeback.

And the numbers don't lie: in the last 5 Liguillas, Chivas failed to advance to the semifinals when they lost the first leg. And this happened for the first time in the Apertura 2012 when they were defeated by Toluca in the first leg, losing 1-2.

But in the second leg, tragedy struck when the Diablos Rojos defeated the Rebaño Sagrado by a score of 3-1 at the Nemesio Diez Stadium. And the tragedy would be repeated in the 2016 Clausura when they were eliminated by the Águilas

In that match, the first leg ended 0-0, but in the second leg, Club América won the Mexican National Classic, with a score of 2-1. And in Apertura 2016 something similar happened to them when in the first leg they tied with the Águilas 1-1, but in the second leg, they were eliminated 0-1.

Only on two occasions did Chivas manage to return to the match and the first was playing with Atlas when in the 2017 Clausura the Zorros defeated them 1-0 in the first leg at the Jalisco Stadium.

And in the second leg, the Rebaño Sagrado achieved the feat by beating the Rojinegros with a score of 1-0, as they also had a better place in the standings.

And before this occasion, they had managed to win the second leg in the Clausura 2015, when in the first leg against the Zorros the score was 0-0, and in the second leg, the game ended 1-4.

Will the feat happen in the Chivas vs Atlas duel?

Following the historical data of Atlas and Chivas' matches in the second leg of the Liguilla, it is likely that Chivas will achieve an epic comeback as the Rojinegros are the only team they have been able to beat without winning the second leg.

However, it should be noted that on this occasion, the Rebaño Sagrado did not draw, but ended up defeated in the second leg, which further complicates things for the Rojiblanco team.

Will Chivas be able to take advantage of the statistics and beat Atlas?
