In this regard, journalist Ignacio Suárez revealed that the Uruguayan player has already listened to proposals from Liga MX. This was also confirmed by René Tovar of ESPN, who mentioned that Toluca got off the boat after learning how much the Uruguayan player is asking for.

Cavani would only say yes to one club because of its history and what it means in Mexico, but above all, because of the references, he was given about the team. Thus, Cavani would say yes to Cruz Azul to become a reinforcement.

Why would he choose Cruz Azul?

Jonathan Rodriguez, a former Cruz Azul player, has given Cavani good references about the Máquina Celeste.
