The European player that Juan Carlos Osorio wants to accept arriving at Chivas

Since Chivas decided to part ways with Marcelo Michel Leaño after the 3-1 defeat against CF Monterrey in week 13 of Clausura 2022, they haven’t stopped looking for a coach to take over El Rebaño Sagrado for the next season.

Michel Leaño was replaced by Ricardo Cadena, who has been in Chivas structure for a while coaching the academy teams and the reserves team, CD Tapatío, and for a while, it seemed like he was going to be the next coach of Chivas, as he had five straight victories since he took over the team.

But the defeat in quarterfinals against Atlas FC showed that he doesn’t have the experience needed to be in charge of a team like Chivas, as he couldn’t overcome the adverse result and neither find a way of opening one of the most solid defenses of Clausura 2022.

According to reports from TUDN, Ricardo Peláez interviewed five different coaches for the position, and Diego Aguirre was the favorite, but given that they took too long deciding who is going to be their coach, Cruz Azul agreed to sign the Uruguayan striker.

Juan Carlos Osorio, willing to return to Liga MX

After Juan Carlos Osorio parted ways with Colombian side América de Cali, he was linked to a few Liga MX teams, including Chivas. And although it was FC Juárez the team that reached him first, the former Mexico National Team coach declined their offer.

That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t want to return to coach to Liga MX, as according to reports, he’s been in conversations with Chivas as he wants to establish a long-term project based on the academy teams, although he knows that if he wants to have immediate success, they need good reinforcements.

One of the players that he’s requesting to arrive at Chivas for him to accept the job is Orbelín Pineda, who is looking to leave La Liga side Celta de Vigo to earn more playing time prior Qatar 2022, as he was erased by Eduardo “Chacho” Coudet since his arrival in January.

Can Orbelín play in Chivas?

It looks complicated that Chivas can acquire the economic rights of the 26-year-old midfielder given that he just arrives at Celta de Vigo, but they can add him on a loan, something that will benefit all the parties involved, as he will earn playing time, Celta de Vigo won’t lose their investment and Chivas will add a much-needed quality player.
