Soccer always puts everyone in their place and it did so again as the Camoteros made a mockery of the Águilas and paid dearly for it in Club América vs Puebla in the Liga MX Playoffs.
The club coached by Fernando "Tano" Ortiz showed his authority at home and defeated Puebla with a score of 3-2, and also with a great demonstration of teamwork led by Diego Valdés, the club's best player.
And as an extra trophy, Club América took revenge on the field for something that happened on social networks, which at the time went viral as it was a mockery of the Águilas and their fans by Puebla, who paid on the field for what they did.
At the end of Round 8 of Liga MX 2022 something happened that shook social networks and several Mexican states: a 5.7 Richter earthquake shook several places in Mexico and the Twitter account of Puebla FC mocked Club América using this theme.
Using his Twitter account, Puebla's community manager wrote: "Did the tremor feel ugly down there too @ClubAmerica ? Or was it just up here?".
Club Puebla was leading the tournament in Round 8, while Club América surprised everyone by waking up in 18th place in the overall standings.
And since that earthquake happened, the Camotero team thought it was a good idea to make fun of the Eagles. And the idea worked so well that the tweet generated more than 17,000 likes, with more than 2,300 retweets, and was shared 1,381 times, going viral.
The mockery of the Águilas was so great that it became news and many Mexican media outlets shared the fact. But unfortunately for Puebla, time puts things in their place.
Now in the Liguilla, Club Puebla had to pay dearly for its mockery of Club América in Round 8 of Liga MX 2022, as these teams faced each other on the field and although in the first leg things were even, in the second leg the Águilas ran over Puebla.
Although the score ended 3-2, the Azulcremas dominated Puebla for most of the match and it was not until the end of regular time in the second half that the Camoteros managed to score their second goal of the match.
And so, the Águilas advance to the semifinals of the tournament, while Puebla will have to watch the rest of Liga MX 2022 from home, and at the same time, they will have to worry about shielding several elements of the squad.
Several of the club's players are of interest to some Liga MX teams, and they will probably try to snatch players such as Israel Reyes or even Nicolás Larcamón from La Franja.
Club America vs Puebla off the field, for Israel Reyes. How much are they asking for him?
