Yesterday afternoon was a nightmare for Santos Laguna in their visit to the BBVA Bancomer Stadium as they lost to Monterrey, with an extra man, and will complain about the refereeing.

The club stated that it will file a formal complaint to Liga MX as they consider that several of the decisions made by the referee during the match were not impartial and were detrimental to them.
The match played at the home of Rayados de Monterrey, started very evenly with both clubs moving from goal to goal, looking to do damage in the opponent's area and at minute 11, Rayados' attacks began.
At that minute, Joel Campbell took a powerful shot, but Carlos Acevedo appeared at the back and deflected the ball to save his team.
This action was repeated in the 19th minute when Campbell sent in a cross, and between the goalkeeper and the defense, the ball ended up being blocked.
But things got tense in the 44th minute of the match when Acevedo knocked down Vincent Janssen, who was coming dangerously into the area, and the referee awarded a penalty.
However, luckily for Santos Laguna, Joel Campbell took the shot, but his shot went too wide and ended up sending the ball wide, thus saving Los Laguneros.
And at minute 72, with the help of the VAR, a play was reviewed which, in the end, resulted in the expulsion of Campbell for a strong tackle on Prieto, leaving Santos Laguna with an extra man on the field.
But this made little difference as the Rayados were determined to take the 3 points in their duel against the Laguneros. And that is what happened a few minutes later in the match.
In the 82nd minute of the match, Luis Romo appeared to head in a cross that was set up by Meza to open the scoring, making the score 1-0, which was the result that sealed the victory for Rayados.
The board of directors of Santos Laguna announced that they will file a formal complaint with Liga MX regarding the refereeing they received in the match against Monterrey, as they consider that the referee's decisions were detrimental to them.
Specifically, the club will complain about the penalty given to Vincent Janssen and the goal disallowed to Brian Lozano, which could have changed the outcome of the match.
This decision was announced by Dante Elizalde, president of Santos Laguna, who was not satisfied with the refereeing of Marco Ortiz Nava and will therefore file a formal complaint with the club.
"It is a controversial match that happens more because of decisions that we do not understand. It seems to me that Monterrey is a great institution that is very well managed but ends up receiving decisions that favor it when they were clearly in another direction," said the director.
