Club América has had one of the worst beginnings in recent years, as they currently stand 14 with only one point in Liga MX for Clausura 2022. The lone point they have was earned in the opening game, when they visited Club Puebla and both Santiago Solari and Roger Martínez were sent off in the first half.
Emilio Azcárraga is not happy with Club América’s performances
Santiago Solari knows he needs to change things for the round 4 of Clausura 2022 if Las Águilas pretend to be a real contender for Liga MX title, and although they have yet to play their match against Mazatlan FC that was postponed, the truth is that Club América hasn’t looked dangerous on the pitch.
And after Emilio Azcárraga visit the club and gave them an ultimatum, Solari finally decided to bench Richard Sánchez, who hasn’t been up to the level needed to be part of the starters. Instead of Sánchez, Diego Valdés will finally make his debut with the Azlucremas colors.
Diego Valdés has yet to play with Club América in an official match, as he was recovering from an injury that suffered in the quarterfinals of Apertura 2021, when he was still a Santos Laguna player. Luckily for them, he’s going to be ready for the match against Atlético San Luis.
