After having their worst start in Liga MX in over 64 years, Club América knows that if they want to change things and leave the bottom of the table, it’s now or never, as the game against Querétaro will give them the possibility of earning a victory, as they’re also fighting to climb positions in Clausura 2022.

Santiago Solari will be out of Club América if they lose against Querétaro

According to reports, in Club América they requested that they earn at least 4 out of the 6 possible points available this week to keep Santiago Solari in Las Águilas’ dugout, given that they only have earned 5 in the previous seven matches.

Solari knows that his future in América depends on these results, which is why people were expecting him to start the best players in his squad, although he decided to sit one of the players that could open spaces for América in the left side of the pitch.

With this decision, he’s sending a message to Las Águilas locker room, given that the roster is divided in different groups, as some of the players want the continuity of Solari and another group is expecting him to leave.

Who are the players that he decided to sit?

One of the players that has been critic of Solari’s system and is known to be against his stay in Club América is Richard Sánchez, although he already lost his place in the starting XI given that he was becoming a liability on the pitch, as he was usually involved in the mistakes that have América in the tight spot they currently are.

According to reports, Diego Lainez is also part of the group that doesn’t trust Solari, and although he hasn’t been a starter since Club América beat Santos Laguna by a 3-2 score, every time he enters the pitch, he creates dangerous plays, something that Solari will need to beat a Querétaro team that hasn’t lost in their last three games.

Who will arrive in América if Solari ends up leaving?

If Club América doesn’t manage to win at least one of their games and save a point on the other one, Solari will see finished his stint with Las Águilas. His departure will open the door to Gilberto Adame, who could take over the job as an interim coach until a new coach is signed.

Reports suggest that Alfredo Tena could be the coach that will replace Solari, as he’s been seen with Emilio Azcárraga in recent days and already has experience in El Nido, both as player and coach.
