In an interview with Mexican media, Miguel Herrera not only said that Tigres is the best offense but also challenged the Rojinegros and warned them that the Felinos are going to go out and play with a knife between their teeth.

In addition, the tactician heated up his team's duel against the Zorros, boasting that his team is the best offense in Liga MX 2022, and although he did not talk about his team's attacking numbers, a quick review of the data shows that Herrera is indeed boasting, but using real numbers. 

According to Liga MX 2022 data, Tigres has indeed the best offense in the tournament, as in the 17 dates of the competition, they scored 30 goals and conceded 20.

But curiously, they will be facing Atlas, a team that has the best defense in the tournament since, unlike the other 17 clubs in the tournament, they only allowed 15 goals against in 17 Rounds of Liga MX 2022.

Therefore, Herrera said bluntly: "We have to attack. We are the best offense, so we will have to make that condition count. On the last matchday, the team was decimated and we didn't stop attacking, we managed to score a goal and that's the idea: to attack that team that defends well".

Miguel Herrera faces a complicated challenge against Atlas

Herrera's challenge will not only be to advance to the final of the tournament but also to try to do so by direct definition, i.e. with goals on the scoreboard and not by taking advantage of the points accumulated in the tournament.

This is because, according to the Liguilla regulations, if a match is tied on aggregate, the club with the best score in the regular tournament will advance to the next round, which in this case would be Tigres, who finished the tournament in second place with 33 points.

Meanwhile, Atlas finished third with 27 points, so if the match is tied on aggregate, the Felinos will advance to the final of the tournament. However, Herrera's challenge will be to get through with goals on the scoreboard, as on two previous occasions they have gone through thanks to their position in the table.
