Liga MX entered the final stretch of the Clausura 2022, and Pachuca and Tigres are the only two teams that have secured their place in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Puebla, Cruz Azul, Monterrey, Atlas, Necaxa, América, Chivas, and Atlético San Luis have at least secured their place in the playoffs but still aspire to avoid reclassification and take the two available places for the quarterfinals.

Who is Ricardo Chávez, the player who gave Atlético San Luis the win over Cruz Azul?

América, Chivas, and Cruz Azul confirmed their presence in the final phase of the Clausura 2022 with one match remaining in the regular phase of the tournament. The Águilas obtained their sixth consecutive victory with a 2-0 win over Tigres; Guadalajara reached three wins in a row with a 3-1 win over Pumas and La Máquina qualified despite losing against Atlético de San Luis. Pumas jeopardize its presence in the playoffs.

What is the outlook for each team?

América is the most successful team at the moment, with six consecutive victories that have them in contention to avoid the playoffs, after beating Tigres 0-2 at the Volcán. The Águilas will fight to avoid the playoffs with Cruz Azul, Atlas, Rayados and Chivas, in the last matchday, to enter directly into the quarterfinals.

Pachuca will finish the Clausura 2022 as the best team of the tournament, after beating Rayados 3-0 and combined with the defeat of Miguel Herrera's team against América.

Cruz Azul only will avoid the playoffs if they win against América in the last round and Atlas or Puebla do not win their respective games.

Chivas woke up with the arrival of Ricardo Cadena as interim coach, after three consecutive wins with a 3-1 result over Pumas, who must score points to qualify for the playoffs; however, they are giving priority to the final of the CONCACAF Champions League.

Pumas lost positions and with the commitment of the CONCACAF Champions League final is in 11th place, and after the defeat against Chivas, it opens up the possibility for teams such as Toluca, Santos, Mazatlán and, to a lesser extent, Tijuana and Querétaro, to aspire to reclassification.

Necaxa defeated Puebla 1-0 to secure its place in the final phase, as well as the places of three other teams. Matchday 16 will continue this Sunday.

So far, ten teams have already secured their places in the final phase, although only Pachuca and Tigres are in the quarterfinals, and two places remain to be defined for the final phase.

FC Juarez is the only team eliminated from the tournament and will pay the 80 million pesos fine for being the worst team in the quotient table.
