Round 3 of the Liga MX 2022 concluded, but in yesterday's Leon vs Necaxa match, Jordan Carrillo was sent off for a terrible foul, which left his team in a disadvantageous position, as they were beaten by Los Rayos.

The terrible foul occurred in the 18th minute of the first half when Santos Laguna was rushing at full speed to set up a counter-attacking play against the Rayos.

At that moment, Idekel Domínguez of Necaxa ran at full speed to try to stop the attack of the rival team, so to cut off the advance of Jordan Carrillo, he stretched out his leg when he realized that Carrillo was advancing the ball.

The action happened in a matter of seconds, so both players had only fractions of that same second to react, but it was not enough because when Carrillo tried to recover the ball, the Santos player stepped on Domínguez, who was left on the ground writhing in pain

Although the action happened in the blink of an eye, the referee Víctor Alfonso Cáceres did not hesitate for a second and immediately approached the player to show him the red card and expel him from the match

This despite the complaints of the Santos players, who approached the referee to complain, since, according to them, the foul did not merit a red card.

Fortunately for Necaxa, Domínguez was able to rejoin the match without consequences, but the damage had already been done for the home team at Corona Stadium.

Jordan Carrillo's dismissal for his terrible foul put Santos on the ropes

While the Laguna team's disadvantage was not reflected on the scoreboard immediately after Carrillo's dismissal, the consequences would be seen later on the scoreboard

Carrillo's dismissal gave Santos a certain advantage in set pieces, as Necaxa's defenders had to reorganize their tactics when a player from the opposing team was missing.

As a result, and while they were reorganizing, the first goal of the match was scored at minute 36 of the first half when Fernando Gorriarán took a corner kick that was rejected by the Necaxa defense, but the ball returned to the feet of the Uruguayan player, who crossed again

This cross went to Félix Torres, who with a powerful header sent the ball into the back of the net to open the score 1-0

Everything seemed to be going well but things began to take their true course at minute 45+3 of the first half when Fernando González shot from outside the area.

But his shot was stopped by Carlos Acevedo, but to his bad luck, the ball bounced and was left at the feet of Ángelo Araos, who only had to push it into the net. With that, the game was tied 1-1

Without Carrillo on the field and with the tie, Necaxa went over Santos

However, this was the beginning of the debacle for Los Laguneros, who were never able to recover from the lack of a player.

This was reflected in the 54th minute of the second half when Jesús Escoboza sent a cross from the left flank into the six-yard box where Milton Giménez was

The player shot and sent the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-1. And the third goal would come from a similar play in which, in the 76th minute, Escoboza would once again send a cross into the six-yard box, which would be headed by Rodrigo Aguirre.

The last goal of the game would come in the 86th minute, also courtesy of Aguirre, when Jorge Valdivia recovered the ball and assisted his teammate, who took a powerful shot towards the rival's goal and shot into Carlos Acevedo's area

That is why Jordan Carrillo's sending off was so important in the match, as it threw his team off-balance and they suffered a terrible defeat in Liga MX 2022.
