Movements continue in Liga MX 2022 and the most recent news is that Juan Otero is about to join Club America, but someone very important in Santos Laguna opposes his departure

This information was released just a few days after the brutal beating that the Guerreros suffered at the hands of the Rayos del Necaxa 4-1, a match in which Santos Laguna also suffered the expulsion of Jordan Carrillo.

And after that same match, the media spoke with Santos coach Pedro Caixinha, with whom they discussed the possible departure of the player

Is Juan Otero about to join Club America?

Caixinha was a bit elusive in answering the question, and simply gave an answer that hinted that the player's departure was not his decision.

On the subject, the Portuguese tactician said:

"I won't be the one who has to pass on that information, but many times rumors become reality."

However, if anyone has already confirmed that the player is hours away from joining the Coapa club, it is ESPN journalist John Sutcliffe, who affirmed that both teams' boards of directors have already closed the deal and that only details are needed to confirm the transfer.

This information makes sense of the fact that the Cafetalero striker was not on the substitutes' bench last Sunday in the match against Necaxa, and did not enter the field of play despite the drubbing his team suffered at home.

According to what ESPN has published today, the player did not work with his Santos Laguna teammates this Tuesday and is expected to travel to Mexico City in the next few hours to undergo the respective medical exams and attend to administrative issues before joining the Aguilas

Santos Laguna authority opposes Otero's departure to Club America

According to the opinion column El Francotirador, from the sports newspaper Récord, Pedro Caixinha, the coach of Santos Laguna, is the one who opposes Otero's departure from the club

According to information he received from sources close to the Torreón club, Caixinha as opposed to the player's departure because "he considers him as his first choice winger".

The columnist also affirmed that the club's strategist "is defending him tooth and nail with the Santos board so that he does not accept the American team's offer".

And even though the column stated that due to this fact the player's departure could be almost impossible, the information revealed today by John Sutcliffe contradicts that statement.

If the player's transfer is confirmed, it would be a great victory for Club America as Juan Otero is a great player for his club, even if he has not established himself as a great scorer.

But it would also be a triumph for the Aguilas because they recently had their most ambitious signings for Liga MX 2022 ruined.

Among those signings was Brian Ocampo from Club Nacional de Football of Uruguay, Pablo Solari from Colo Colo of Chile, and Paul Arriola from DC United of the MLS of the United States, so the arrival of the Colombian striker would bring peace of mind to the Azulcrema team.
