The coach of América, Fernando Ortiz, after inciting his counterpart from León, Nicolás Larcamón, to fight, received a two-game sanction without current power, that is, he lost the match against Monterrey and Cruz Azul, two key games in the aspirations of the cream-blue team to get into the top four.
In a press release, the Mexican Football Federation announced that in addition to the sanction of the coaches, the referee of the match, Fernando Hernández, will have a 12-day sanction without being able to referee. In addition, America received a harsh warning from Femexfut.
"Both clubs are warned about the future conduct of their players and coaching staff, since in the event that this type of action is committed again, the Disciplinary Commission may impose more severe sanctions against them," says the statement where América is subject to not having more acts as happened in the match against León.
In this way, América is conditioned not only with its coach, but also with its players. Just four days after closing the regular phase, the Azulcremas would be conditioned by the sanction of the Disciplinary Commission of the Mexican Federation.
According to W Deportes Radio, the América board would accept the sanction that fell on Fernando Ortiz, since they want to set a precedent so that this type of situation does not happen again. The cream-blue team has had to deal with similar cases with both Miguel Herrera and Santiago Solari.
