The Liga MX Clausura 2023 tournament continues with its weekly activities. We are already in the last day of the regular phase, where the final positions towards the league and the playoffs are defined.

One of the matches scheduled for today is the clash between Chivas and Mazatlán, where the locals came out with the obligation to get the three points to get their pass to the Quarterfinals.

Alexis Vega tried with a shot outside the area, but the local goalkeeper sent a corner kick. In the 56th minute Fernando Beltrán made it 3-1 for Chivas with a shot outside the area that left Gutiérrez without a chance. "Nene" himself was just short of scoring the third goal at minute 60, but his shot stayed in the hands of Gutiérrez.

In the 74th minute Isaac Brizuela finished off a great collective play to seal the match with Chivas' fourth score. For 88' Flores was close to scoring another goal, but Gutiérrez stopped the shot without any problems. One play later, Chivas was close to the fifth goal when Brizuela assisted down the left wing, but Mazatlán's defense stopped with some problems.

How did Chivas play?

Pavel Pérez scored Chivas' fifth goal, but the referee canceled it due to an offside by Antonio Briseño. This play was the last of the match, so Chivas got the win and went directly to the league.
