He’s the most expensive Guatemalan player and plays for Club América

After almost not being taken into consideration last semester by Santiago Solari, during the first game of Clausura 2022, Club América’s coach decided to give him a chance and placed him in the starting XI against Club Puebla in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw.

Nowadays, he’s the most expensive player Guatemala has and Solari is finally giving him a place in Club América, where he has played his entire soccer career, as he joined the club’s Academy when he was a kid. He was called to the senior team in 2018 where he’s played ever since.

Antonio de Jesús “Chucho” López decided to defend Guatemala in 2020 after having the citizenship from his father’s side, and with 24 years, his market value is set at $660,000, the Guatemalan most expensive player.

Chucho Lopéz numbers with the Guatemalan National Team

The left-winger has played six games for Guatemalan National Team since his debut on a friendly match against El Tri, although only two of them had been official matches for the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. He missed the first semester of 2021 as he had a fibula fracture that kept him out of the pitches for a while.
