The Aguilas idol thrilled the club's fans by talking about what he wants for his future.

Cuauhtémoc Blanco thrilled Mexican soccer fans when he said in an interview that he would like to coach Club America or the Mexican National Team after finishing his political career.

In an interview given to the media outlet "El Universal", the historic number 10 of the Aguilas and consummate hero of El Tri stated that in the future he sees himself returning to the field of soccer

But not as a player, he spoke in a big way, as a replacement for Santiago Solari, who had a very bad start to the Liga MX 2022

Or even to replace Gerardo Martino, who has failed to secure the Mexican national soccer team's ticket to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Although the now governor of the state of Morelos in Mexico did not specify how long he would be working to achieve either of these two goals, he was definitely interested in them

The governor of Morelos still has three years left in his administration, and although he has said that he would be interested in continuing in the field of politics, his statements showed that soccer still lives in his heart.

What exactly did Cuauhtémoc Blanco say about being a coach?

The first Mexican to score in 3 different World Cups was interviewed by the aforementioned media and although he spoke briefly about soccer since he is an acting governor, he said that his return to soccer would have to be at the end of his term.

The reporter from "El Universal" asked the former player, "How do you see yourself in 3 years?".

To this question, Blanco answered: "I don't know. Right now I'm only thinking about these three years (of his remaining term). Probably yes, probably no (to continue in politics). I would also love to one day be the coach of América or coach the national team".

Those few words were enough to set off a furor in the social networks and among the fans of the Aguilas.

And they can't be blamed, since in addition to being a great player, Cuau was a leader in the dressing room and always knew how to lift the spirits of his teammates

The brutal and epic numbers of Cuauhtémoc Blanco

For more than 20 years of his career, the idol from Mexico City's Tepito neighborhood did nothing but outwit defenses, shatter nets and accumulate trophies and goal-scoring titles.

As an example, the former player is recognized as Club América's second all-time leading scorer with 152 goals, second only to Luis Roberto Alves with 192 goals.

He is also the third best scorer of the Mexican National Soccer Team with 38 goals, behind Javier Hernández who has 39 and Jared Borgetti, with his 46 goals.

But unlike most of the top scorers, most of his goals were scored in official competitions (21), making him Mexico's top scorer in this category.

Because of this brutal track record, but also because of his personality and natural leadership, Blanco would be a great choice to lead Club America out of the dismal start they have had in Liga MX 2022

Or even, it would be interesting to see how he would deal with the current situation of the Mexican national team, which has yet to secure its ticket to the World Cup in Qatar 2022.
