The team coached by Juan Reynoso is already in Montreal, ready to play. On Tuesday, they did field reconnaissance and held a conference prior to Wednesday's match at 6:00 p.m. Central Mexican time at Montreal's Olympic Stadium, which has a retractable roof and the weather will not be a problem.

Which Cruz Azul players did not travel to Canada?

All three players have been injured and are not ready to play yet. It is believed that right back Alejandro Mayorga could return for Liga MX Matchday 11 against Pachuca.

The good news for La Máquina is that Christian Tabó and Shaggy Martínez were able to make the trip, leaving injuries behind them.

How do the teams get to the game?

CF Montreal, which has lost to New York FC in MLS, is at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with three defeats in three games and a -6 record, while the Cementeros are in high spirits after their victory over Pumas and their return to the Estadio Azteca after three consecutive defeats at home in the Clausura 2022.

Cruz Azul, the hope of the Mexican teams in CONCACAF

The great hope of Mexican soccer in this year's CONCACAF Champions League will be looking to seal their passage to the semis when they visit a CF Montreal side that has yet to win this year. At home, Juan Reynoso's side had chances to improve on their 1-0 win in the first leg of the quarterfinals, which ended with a solitary goal from Uriel Antuna.

Despite that slim margin, Cruz Azul ended up as the Mexican team with the best chance of reaching the semifinals of CONCACAF's main club tournament. The other two teams in the tournament, León and Pumas, need to come back from 3-0 behind in their visits to Seattle Sounders and New England Revolution, respectively. La 'Máquina', thus, remained as Mexico's great trump card to extend a 16-year hegemony in this tournament.
