Earlier this week, Cruz Azul players broke ranks to begin their vacations for the Apertura 2022 Tournament and start a new project headed by the coach who arrives on the bench, once the Cementero team was eliminated from the Clausura 2022 in the quarterfinals after drawing with Tigres on aggregate.

The players took the opportunity to relax and begin their rest for the next few weeks before returning to La Noria to report to the club on June 2, but, without a doubt, the one who surprised everyone the most was Alejandro Mayorga, who immediately packed his bags to travel to the beach to marry his girlfriend.

It was last Thursday when the Cruz Azul defender united his life in marriage with his now-wife Marlene Gómez, in a very intimate ceremony on the beach with their closest family members and in which no Cementero soccer players were seen among the guests.

Just a couple of months ago, the Celeste fullback surprised his partner by giving her his engagement ring, just when he was out of La Máquina due to injury; so after several years of dating and testing their relationship from afar, when Marlene had to stay in Guadalajara and Mayorga became a reinforcement for Pumas, they were able to consummate their love.

What's next for Alejandro Mayorga at Cruz Azul?

Alejandro Mayorga will remain at Cruz Azul for the Apertura 2022 and thus conclude his loan period from Chivas, which expires in December of this year, however, the board has no plans to make the purchase option valid after he has not been able to convince with his performances from the left-back, as Adrián Aldrete closed the semester as a starter; so once he finishes his participation next tournament, he will no longer be a player of La Máquina and will return to the Rebaño.
