Cruz Azul is looking to sell Luis Romo in this transfer market, as his contract expires in one year and the Celestes do not want the same scenario that occurred with Orbelín Pineda, who left the club for Celta de Vigo in a free transfer.

As a result, Cruz Azul is looking to trade midfielder Luis Romo to Rayados de Monterrey in this transfer window.

Carlos Rodriguez or Erick Aguirre would be involved in the exchange

Cruz Azul wants to have Carlos Rodríguez or Erick Aguirre, Rayados players, in its roster, so it has sent a proposal to Monterrey for an exchange, offering Luis Romo.

In case Romo is not of interest to Monterrey, La Máquina has also put US$5 million on the table to buy one of these players, according to ESPN.

Apparently, Romo's intention is also to leave the Cementero team, so everything is in place for this exchange.

Javier Aguirre, Monterrey's coach has not requested any reinforcements

Javier Aguirre does not have any new signings for next year, and it is not even in his plans to bring in another player, so it could be difficult for Monterrey to accept the proposal.

In addition, Cruz Azul recently won the signing of Christian Tabó over Monterey, as he preferred to be coached by Juan Reynoso.

While in Rayados, if there is an arrival, they hope it will be Rodolfo Pizarro, who would leave Inter Miami CF, although Chivas is also considering the player.

Romo´s career goals

"We are in talks with Romo about his career goals, he wants to go to Europe or earn a much higher salary, so the option for him is to leave Cruz Azul," a source told ESPN.

Undoubtedly, it would be a great disappointment for Cruz Azul fans, since he is one of the great references, besides being a key player in obtaining the ninth title for La Máquina.

Romo has been selected by Gerardo Martino in the Mexican national team, while Aguirre arrived at Rayados just six months ago, but his debut was delayed due to an injury he suffered in the Olympic Games.

Charly Rodríguez is a national team player and one of the most promising players in Mexican soccer.

Luis Romo's contract with La Máquina expires in December 2022. The Mexican midfielder arrived for the 2020 Clausura from Querétaro and established himself in Cruz Azul's starting eleven after playing 64 matches, scoring 9 goals, and assisting on 15 times.
