Club América will make its debut today against Club Puebla in a visit to Estadio Cuauhtémoc, but in order to start on the right foot and leave Puebla with a victory, first they’ll have to sort a couple of problems on the offensive side.

Las Águilas have been trying to add another striker prior the start of Clausura 2022, but they haven’t managed to close a deal with any of the options they had, and they even let go Leo Suárez to Club Santos, as they hoped they had their new striker by now.
But Club América will have to face Club Puebla with an empty spot to fill in their attack, as negotiations with Club Nacional and Brian Ocampo’s agent didn’t come to an end they were hoping for. Ocampo wanted to play for Las Águilas, but Nacional and his agent were asking for $4 million, a price América wasn’t willing to pay.

Club América’s debut will be without new additions
Santiago Solari confirmed that tonight’s game against Puebla will be without the two acquisitions they had during the offseason, as neither Jonathan dos Santos nor Diego Valdés will be part of the squad Club América will play in Estadio Cuauhtémoc’s pitch.
