Club América is already planning what will be the 2022-23 Liga MX Season for them now that they are close to starting their preseason workouts, as Apertura 2022 will start in less than a month given that Liga MX changed the schedule, so the season ends before the World Cup.

Although the first movement that Las Águilas did was announced a few days ago, with the official naming of Fernando “Tano” Ortíz as their new coach, Club América is also looking to add a striker that is proven in Liga MX.

According to reports, they are trying to part ways with either Henry Martín or Federico Viñas to sign a new forward, as neither one of them were able to score consistently during Clausura 2022, something that hurt Las Águilas aspirations in Liguilla.

They are ready to sign their first addition

According to reports from sports journalist David Medrano, Emilio Azcárraga has agreed to increase the budget for signings, especially when it comes to Julián Quiñones, who in recent days has become the priority for América.

Given the good relationship that exists between Las Águilas and Grupo Orlegi, owner of both Atlas FC and Santos Laguna, the negotiations could start soon, with the 25-year-old Colombian striker’s future in hands of Club América.

According to Transfermarkt, Quiñones has a market value of $5.5 million, but given his age and the outstanding performances that he’s had in the past year, Atlas, who are willing to listen to offer for him, are asking at least $7 million for his economic rights.
