Club América keeps disappointing with their performances in Clausura 2022, as they haven’t been able to win in Estadio Azteca and Guillermo Ochoa doesn’t seem to be capable of keeping a clean sheet, as they have received multiple goals in all but one match.

Emilio Azcárraga already decided what to do with Santiago Baños

Santiago Solari has his days numbered, as Las Águilas don’t seem to have a way out of the current bad streak they’re into, and if they don’t manage to win against Pumas next week, on the first Clásico of the season, the Argentinean coach will have to leave Coapa.

Although Santiago Baños was the one to bring Solari in, he now is looking for a coach to replace him and given that Juan Carlos Osorio knows Mexican soccer and has had better performances with clubs than with National Teams, he might be Solari’s replacement.

There’s a player opposing his arrival in El Nido

Baños believes that Juan Carlos Osorio could be what Club América needs to turn things around and return them to the top of Liga MX standings, but Guillermo Ochoa is not happy with the idea of having to play again for Osorio, as he knows him from his time as Mexico National Team coach.

Osorio was El Tri’s coach for the cycle of 2018 FIFA World Cup. He was presented in October 2015 and won 9 out of his first 10 games in El Tri’s dugout, tying the remainder one. The problem the players had with him was his rotation system, as they thought it wasn’t beneficial for them, as they didn’t gain regularity.

Osorio’s numbers with Mexico National Team

Juan Carlos Osorio coach Mexico National Team for 52 games since his arrival in 2015 until El Tri was eliminated from Russia 2018 in the round of 16 by Brazil. During his stint in the Aztec squad, Osorio won 33 games, draw 9 more and lost the remainder 10. He currently coaches Colombian side América de Cali.
