Club Deportivo Guadalajara is not only famous for its winning history and huge fan base, but one of the main hallmarks that characterize the Rojiblancos is their nationalism, since in all their categories and divisions they play only with Mexican players, although on this occasion they announced the arrival of a German national.
El Tapatío, a red-and-white affiliate team that plays in the Expansion League, announced this Friday the incorporation of center forward Christopher Engelhart, a player who attracted attention on social networks due to the peculiarity of his surname; however, despite his European descent, he is Mexican and does not break any of the Rebaño's statutes.
According to the Liga Mx website, the new Rojiblanco striker was born on December 16, 1999, in Morelia, Michoacán, so he is Mexican by birth, and his mother is also from this country. The peculiarity of his surname arises because his father is German, although he has been in Aztec territory throughout his life.
Engelhart is an element formed in the youth academy of Toluca, having a formative process from the Under 15, remaining in the scarlet institution until the summer of 2021, where he was loaned to Coyotes de Tlaxcala, where he contributed with four goals during the soccer year, managing to get a new opportunity, now with Tapatío.
This is the second consecutive tournament in which the rojiblanca squad of the Expansion League decided to incorporate a center forward since for the recently concluded Clausura 2022, the Tapatío signed Paolo Yrizar, who was gradually integrated into the Chivas first team.
