Chivas is yet facing a new problem outside the pitch, hours before they debut on Clausura 2022, as they’ll have a new absence in the starting XI, this time for a player that was tested positive for covid in the latest tests.

Marcelo Michel Leaño was considering using him for the first match of the second leg of 2021-22 Liga MX Season, but Hiram Mier’s covid results were positive, which means he won’t be able to take part of the match as he must be isolated for 10 days.
Mier will now joins newly added Roberto “Piojo” Alvarado and Luis Olivas as the players with covid that won’t be able to play this round. On a positive note, El Rebaño Sagrado recovered Fernando Beltrán, who tested negative and can get reinstated in the roster.

Marcelo Michel Leaño will have a hard time deciding who to start instead of the 32-year-old center back, as he was his first option along Antonio “Pollo” Briseño. He might have to place Gilberto Sepúlveda, who played 12 games during Apertura 2021 for El Rebaño.
