Chivas de Guadalajara returned to action on this Wednesday night, hosting León at the Akron Stadium in ‘La Perla del Occidente’, in a match corresponding to Day 4 of the Liga MX Apertura 2022.
The Rebaño Sagrado kicked off the match at the ‘Zapopan Giant’, where they saw central referee Jorge Antonio Pérez Durán and the VAR disallow a great goal by Alexis Vega (26') and then awarded a penalty kick in their favor, just to see Cristián Calderón missed by sending a shot that was too close to the keeper and Rodolfo Cota was able to clear it (45+4').
In the second half, Chivas continued to dominate until a red card against the Rebaño and Leon took control of the match. They were unable to convert some of their chances and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
Chivas have only scored one goal in 4 games and the fans were not happy with today's performance. They need wins and to win they need goals, this will be the priority for Ricardo Cadena's team for the next match day.
Chivas will travel to the United States to face Juventus in a friendly match in Las Vegas, after which they will return to Mexico in search of their first win of the tournament.
Club Deportivo Guadalajara will play its next Liga MX Apertura 2022 match on Wednesday, July 27, when it visits the Gallos Blancos de Querétaro at Estadio La Corregidora. León, meanwhile, will host Toluca at the Nou Camp Stadium in Guanajuato, one day earlier, as part of Day 5 of the national championship.
