Chivas de Guadalajara have been one of the Mexican clubs that have opened the doors to Europe to several players, but there is also the other side of the coin, where for some reason they prevented a player from playing in Europe, as was the case of Jorge ‘El Chatón’ Enríquez, one of the key midfielders in Mexico's U-23 medal at the Olympic Games in London.
El Chatón is a youth player of the ‘Rebaño Sagrado’ who saw his career take off when the Mexican National team made history in the 2012 Olympic tournament, which is why a Barcelona team had him in their sights and tried to negotiate his departure, but everything indicates that the team from Guadalajara prevented him from leaving, although he did not give further details of what happened at that time.

"One night they took me to dinner in Barcelona, I was near there. A manager from Espanyol showed up and told me that they had been following me for a long time. And it was sad because I told them (Chivas), I asked them to please let me go, that I already felt that something was cooking, that it was my moment," Enriquez said in an interview with TUDN.
Enríquez saw his level drop with Chivas until he emigrated to clubs such as León, Santos, Puebla, Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus, Salamanca of the Third Division of Spain and Venados de Mérida, but he was recently announced with a managerial position in the Spanish team to try to find new players, but he has not announced his retirement either.
