Brayan Angulo: from one foot out of Cruz Azul to triumph in the squad's debut in Liga MX 2022

La Maquina debuted with the right foot in the current tournament and one of the surprises was that Brayan Angulo, who Cruz Azul wanted out of the team, played a great game in the team's debut in Liga MX 2022. 

The Ecuadorian striker had already packed his bags to leave the team, due to his lack of goals, but above all due to his indiscipline, Cruz Azul's board of directors had decided to release him in the current winter transfer market. 

They even offered him to Club America, but in Coapa they were not interested in the offer since they were looking for a striker of a different profile, so they thanked La Maquina and rejected the Ecuadorian.

And despite the fact that in previous days both coach Juan Reynoso and the board of directors had stated that they did not want the player at the club due to his indiscipline, last night everyone was surprised to see him make his debut in Cruz Azul's victory against Xolos de Tijuana.   

What was Angulo's indiscipline that almost cost him his departure from the team?

"El Cuco" angered the team's board and coach because he did not show up for the preseason and disappeared without notice and without permission from the coaching staff for 3 days, something that was not going to go unnoticed in the machine.

That is why it was urgent to get rid of the player before the start of the tournament. 

The dispute was so serious that the board of directors of the "Cementeros" made public their anger with the player and what they were willing to do so that he would no longer be part of the team.

The dispute even reached the media, such as Récord, which wrote in its pages:

"After Angulo's show, who did not show up for training by his own decision, the decision is not to renew and send him away at once. Well, not so far away. My rotten ear tells me that Cuco is being offered to several clubs, including América, and they are leaving him 'bara, bara (cheap)', eager to take him away. The problem is that in Coapa (América's facilities) they don't need him".

But everything seems to indicate that both the player and the coaching staff and directors sat down to make peace and the player was lined up for La Maquina's debut in the Clausura 2022. 

Reconciliation and Cruz Azul's debut in Liga MX 2022

It was not until yesterday afternoon, shortly before the match, that reporter Adrián Esparza Oteo of TUDN MEX and TUDN USA channels confirmed through his Twitter account that the Ecuadorian was contemplated for the match against Xolos. 

In his tweet, the reporter stated: "Bryan Angulo will be contemplated for tomorrow's match. Confidence in the Ecuadorian to start the tournament".

Angulo, who started as a starter for Cruz Azul, was replaced by Edgar Gutiérrez in the 77th minute, but everything seems to indicate that his possible departure from the team is behind him.
