The bad luck does not stop for the Aguilas as it was learned, in the latest news from Club America, that Miguel Layún will be out of the Liga MX 2022 for two weeks.
Miguel Layún wants Sergio Agüero in Monterrey: it will cost this fortune to bring him
And the reason is not physical, that is to say, it is not because of an injury for which the player will miss the next two rounds of the tournament, but because of something much more complicated.
The reason is a sanction by the league's Disciplinary Commission, due to the fact that the player was sent off in the match against Atlético San Luis at the 85th minute, but when he was leaving the field, he came out saying that the referees "are terrible".
As a result, the tournament's disciplinary body imposed a sanction of two Liga MX games, in which he will not be able to participate, one for "serious foul play", while the other game was sanctioned for "disrespecting the match officials".
For this reason, Layún will not be able to play with the Aguilas in the matches against Santos and Mazatlán FC, a pending match of Round 2 of Liga MX 2022, which was rescheduled due to remodeling work at the Mazatlán stadium.
If the start of the Clausura 2022 had already been terrible for the coach of the Aguilas, with the suspension of Miguel Layún, things are even more complicated for the coach of Club America.
And this is because he has no one to cover the center-back position, since Jorge Sanchez suffered a left knee injury, and Emilio Lara, who could fill the position, underwent surgery last week and is not available.
After the incident on the field for which Layún was sent off, the player posted a message on his social networks to apologize to the referees, his team, and the fans in general.
In his apology, the player mentions that his behavior was the result of frustration, however, his apology was not well received by the fans.
And this is due to the poor performance of the team in the Clausura 2022, so instead of tucking in the player who was apologizing, the fans proceeded to lynch him.
Although the incident did not escalate, coach Santiago Solari is now in a real dilemma as he must replace Layún and at the same time, he will be looking for a win against Santos at all costs.
