Club América will face Pachuca in the sixth round of the Clausura 2022 tournament. América’s last match was against Mazatlán at the Kraken Stadium where the Solari team was not able to win as the final score of the game was 2-1 in favor of the home team. The last game was played last Wednesday as it was for round two and had been postponed due to problems at the Mazatlan stadium.
On the other hand, Pachuca drew against Querétaro 2-2 in their home. Guillermo Almada's team is currently in fourth place in the standings and missed the opportunity to climb to the top spot after the draw against Gallos Blancos, who are in sixteenth place. Despite the draw, Pachuca is having a good start to the season, and the new coach is showing why he is a good manager.

The last five meetings between América and Pachuca have been favorable to the Azulcrema squad, which has won 3 out of 5. In the Apertura 2021 regular-season match Club América and the Tuzos tied 1-1. Although América are favorites, Pachuca have won three out of their 5 last games in the Clausura 2022. On the other hand, the draw is given in +250 odds.
In a postponed match from round 2 of the tournament, Mazatlán beat América with goals from Argentine Gonzalo Sosa and Mexican Miguel Sansores, while América responded with a goal from Colombian Juan Ferney Otero.
The Águilas of Solari, former Real Madrid coach, dropped to fourteenth place with ten goals conceded, the third-worst defense in the tournament. América suffered its third setback with one win in its last four outings and, with four points, is seven behind leaders Puebla.
On Monday, Pachuca tied Querétaro 2-2 with goals from Argentine Nicolás Ibáñez and Mexican Luis Chávez, while Ecuador's José Angulo and Ángel Sepúlveda scored for the visitors. With his goal, Ibañez caught up with Brazilian Rogério as the leading scorer, both with four goals.
