According to ESPN, the German team will play the matches on the occasion of the 100th anniversary in Mexico of the pharmaceutical company that owns Bayer Leverkusen.
Details of these matches, which will be part of the teams' preseason training for the upcoming Apertura 2022 Tournament, are expected to be announced in the coming days.
The capital team is currently seeking to improve its situation in the current Clausura 2022, in which it is in fifteenth place in the general classification with 10 points.
América has so far had two wins and four draws and will be looking to get back on track when the tournament resumes after a break due to the current FIFA date.
The Águilas' next game will be away against Necaxa, against whom they will fight for their third win in the current tournament and their second away from the Azteca stadium.
Toluca, in eleventh place with 13 points, will face Puebla next weekend in search of a positive result that will allow them to climb up the overall standings.
Thus, while both teams are still active in Liga MX, at the same time they are already planning their activities for the following months, including the matches against Bayer Leverkusen.
