After the Atlas vs Pachuca, Julio Furch could be closer to Club America, a team that has been on the hunt for the Argentinean player for some time now, as they need strikers. What is he asking from the Aguilas?
Emilio Azcárraga’s surprising decision now that Miguel Herrera wants to return to Club América
It is no secret that the player has been the object of desire of Santiago Baños, the sporting director of the Azulcrema team, for several tournaments now, so this time he is back in the hunt for the Argentine striker again.
For this reason, this time he has even gone so far as to ask the player what would be the condition for him to accept to wear the Azulcrema uniform since he wants to sign him as soon as the Clausura 2022 Tournament is over.
Since the beginning of this tournament, Club America has tried unsuccessfully to sign Julio Furch, who has always resisted the onslaught of the Aguilas because of his love for Atlas, the club with which he won last season's championship.
Not only did Furch win the Liga MX title, but he was also a key player in the team's second league title, after a drought of more than 70 years.
And when Club America's board of directors saw what Julio Furch was able to achieve, they began their attempts to sign him, attempts that Atlas managed to successfully defuse.
And no one can blame the Águilas for wanting Furch, as their strikers Henry Martín, Roger Martínez, and Federico Viñas have not performed as the team's board had hoped, so now Santiago Baños is still looking for a regular striker.
And although Furch scored more goals in the previous tournament, in the current one he managed to improve his team's striker's performance, without losing his goalscoring instinct, so his arrival at Club America would give the team an offensive power it did not have in this campaign.
Or at least he could not exercise it in his last match against Pachuca, a team that defeated them with authority in the semifinal of the tournament.
According to the Mexican press, the player would have asked Club America's board of directors for an apartment for him and his family, to move to Mexico City since he currently lives in Guadalajara, Jalisco, where Club Atlas is located.
If Julio Furch's transfer to Club America comes to fruition, the Águilas would have a real beast in their ranks, who could return glory to a team that this tournament was in last place in the general classification.
